Ленинградский рабочий Давыдов приезжает в казачий хутор Гремячий Лог с целью помочь донскому казачеству перейти к новым, коллективным формам хозяйства. Кулаки умело используют ошибки руководителя местной партийной организации Макара Нагульнова, восстанавливая против него бедняков.
Давыдову удается организовать колхоз. Его метод убеждения явно расходится с принудительными мерами Нагульнова. Однако общая цель — после ряда драматических столкновений — приводит героев к примирению. Действие фильма происходит в тридцатых годах.

Чтобы спасти своего сына, героиня должна собрать доказательства преступлений, совершённых членами её семьи. Юля родилась и выросла в небольшом городе Энске. Её отец криминальный авторитет. Отец решает насильно выдать Юлю замуж за сына своего партнёра по криминальному бизнесу. Не выдержав давления, Юля покинула город, порвав все связи с семьёй. Перебравшись в Москву, Юля узнает, что она беременна.
Местная молодежь называет ауешников «борзыми» людьми, которые все время лезут в драку. Впрочем, в городе Борзя эти качества пороком не считают. Как выяснила съемочная группа НТВ, одна из ауешных ячеек находится в 15-й школе.
Члены ячейки живут по своему уставу. Главное — уважать старших, смотрящих. Хочешь жить — умей делиться. Говоря другими словами, скидываться в кассу тюремной взаимопомощи — «на общак».
Участник АУЕ: «Суетишься, ищешь. Находишь деньги, сигареты. Через старших потом на лагеря заряжаешь».
Между тем жертвами зачастую становятся другие школьники. Иногда их просто обирают на улицах, иногда — осуществляют поборы за неправильные слова в чей-то адрес.
Корреспондент НТВ Инна Осипова побывала в Забайкальском крае, в Псковской, Ростовской и Свердловской областях, где встретилась с теми, кто со школьной скамьи идет против законов общества и выбирает жизнь по законам зоны.

Mirages are shaping over the immaculate ice shelf. Close up shot of a bear inhaling the frozen air. From the bear’s point of view, we understand that… he is smelling a seal. This odour is that of a young ringed seal hidden under a thin layer of snow. A few steps and paw swipes to clear the animal and uncover a young ringed seal snack. Under the ice shelf, protected from bears by several meters of frozen ice, belugas- the white whales- are hunting halibut. In their tridimensional environment, individuals can communicate the good hunting spots while kilometres apart. The chattering of these ghost hunters is continuous. At the South Pole, leopard seals hunt in silence. But they are nonetheless excellent tacticians. Their hunt is based on their excellent sight, experience and a perfect knowledge of their prey’s calendar. When do the parent penguins go off to feed at sea, when do they return, when are the young going to take their first bath and where exactly will they get into the water? The answers to these questions are all part of the leopard seal’s hunting culture. We follow his adventures under the surface of ice-covered bays. When his hunting season comes to an end at fall, the Northern spring wakes the polar bear which goes off to hunt. Our year in the lives of Pole predators comes to a close.

Loggers and drivers come from all over Indonesia to seek the best wages in the country, slaughtering with all their might. Dangerous work carried out under extreme conditions. Massive deforestation has disfigured the region to the point of endangering the wildlife and indigenous peoples who live there. Borneo, the fourth largest island in the world, has become the symbol of this unequal struggle against the big companies which exploit its wealth to the detriment of its inhabitants, its fauna and its flora.
Today modern archaeology often works with digital technology. Geophysics has allowed thousands of ancient sites to be located — a huge gain for science.
The dig is no longer the be-all and end-all of archeology. We accompany some archeologists on their journey into the virtual past. Geophysics comprises a range of techniques with various geological and military functions. Geomagnetism is used to locate enemy submarines or potential reserves of oil or other minerals. Now, German and Irish archeologists have teamed up to use it to trace prehistoric grave systems. Researchers in western Germany are applying it to locate ancient procession and pilgrimage routes. Shipping archeologists in Bremerhaven are availing of digital technology to create virtual models of shipwrecks and, in Berlin, archeologists and game designers have also embarked on a joint project. As luck would have it, they scanned every millimeter of a temple in the Syrian city of Aleppo, not suspecting that, soon afterwards, the complex would be largely destroyed in the country’s civil war. Their virtual model is evidence that the study of the past can have uses for the present, just as technologies of the present can help us to study the past.
