Everyone needs a place to live, but some arent happy with the great outdoors, they look for some home comforts — they use extraordinary specialist building skills to construct the perfect home. Homes have many uses. They can prove a bolthole to escape predators, a safe nursery in which to raise young, a food store and a shelter from bad weather.
Animals of many shapes and sizes build their own homes. Perhaps the biggest construction projects are those undertaken by ants. Hundreds of thousands work together to construct their home.
Small mammals are expert diggers. Meerkats and hamsters both excavate elaborate tunnels where they can stay out of harms way and raise their young, though the hamster likes to work alone while the meerkats prefer to have the company of an entire clan.
When it comes to making a nursery, it’s birds who steal the show. In just a few days they can construct a basket of twigs — a nest that can support their growing family and keep them out of harms way.
There is one other good builder in the animal kingdom — us. Did we learn our skills from the animal home builders?

He rushes to the ground, ignoring the pedestrians to deliver the port of COTONOU as quickly as possible. Even if his meager salary forces him to live on a small business, he is not the most miserable like those they meet on the road: The farmers and their children who work only to survive, the women who break stones under the blazing sun or the dockworkers who are paid twenty cents to carry a 200 kilogram bale of cotton.

Loggers and drivers come from all over Indonesia to seek the best wages in the country, slaughtering with all their might. Dangerous work carried out under extreme conditions. Borneo, the fourth largest island in the world, has become the symbol of this unequal struggle against the big companies which exploit its wealth to the detriment of its inhabitants, its fauna and its flora.

Un misterio envuelve a la famosa pintura de Leonardo da Vinci «La última cena.» Sólo el 20 por ciento de la obra original se aprecia hoy en día. Al estilo de una novela de suspenso, el reportaje intenta reconstruir cómo se veía en origen el mural.

Leonardo da Vinci, artista y genio universal del Renacimiento. En mayo se cumple el quinto centenario de su muerte. Creó obras mundialmente famosas, incluido el fresco «La última cena.» El mural se encuentra en su ubicación original, en el refectorio del antiguo convento dominico de Santa Maria delle Grazie de Milán. Esta pintura, de 4,60 metros de altura y 8,80 metros de ancho, fue restaurada durante 19 años. Durante los trabajos, los científicos descubrieron que hoy sólo puede apreciarse el 20 por ciento del original. Entonces, ¿qué aspecto tenía el original, al que rodean tantas leyendas? La búsqueda de pistas conduce también a la pequeña abadía de Tongerlo en Bélgica, donde se descubrió una misteriosa copia muy antigua de la obra de Leonardo da Vinci. До этого момента невероятно далекий, и едва различимый в телескопы, ледяной карлик, оставался практически полной загадкой для учёных. Еще десять лет назад люди не знали толком, что на самом деле представляет собою Плутон — девятая планета нашей Солнечной системы. Ну ладно, точнее бывшая девятая планета, а ныне, после понижения в статусе — транс-нептуновая карликовая планета. Ровно за 100 лет до прибытия аппарата, американские астрономы получили первые снимки Плутона. Правда тогда, в 1915 году, они не осознали, что совершили открытие. И лишь в феврале 1930 года, молодой астроном Клайд Томбо, сопоставив фотографии смог обнаружить планету.
